Read the City (Semiotics of space)

Read the City  (Semiotics of space)
Claude Dubois : Search for my painting and study of light and color in time (urban landscape)

Considering urban planning as something other than a regulation or set of management techniques of space, it is possible to read the city (within the meaning of logos) in its form, its operation and symbolic. The city of origins is written as a symbolic example of an ideal (the circle / square or sacred / profane) who would live together equal and different. This project - political - then results in a divided circle or a square divided - defined space - in four equal parts: the neighbourhoods. This partition into four by a cardo and a decumanus lead to four gates facing the four cardinal points, symbol - ecumene Augustin Berque - linking humanity or project men to land in extent or inserts a perspective or a divine plan that comes transcend the work of men giving it meaning. We find this almost universal symbolic element as the city plans of regulating lines in China as the Japan and inherited the philosophy of Zou Yan.

A semiotics of space consists of both grammar and vocabulary developed under such Pechère by René (1909-2002) in his Grammar of jardins. The built space or space on which man intervenes, is full of meanings. However, few studies and more teaching this discipline. One of the founding texts of this approach is undoubtedly that of Françoise Choay entitled Semiotics and 19695. Among the contributions of planning the development of a semiotic approach to space include the work and during Gobindo to Chaudury the School of architecture of Paris-La Villette on sacrée architecture. It is in this field of sacred architecture that we find the most studied symbolic archetypes.

The development to the entire urban space with a repository that borrows from various cultures was initiated by Alexandros Lagopoulos. The semiotics of space also applies to founding narratives and myths cities like rites foundation and dédicace. In ancient times, draw the plan of a city was not a trivial matter to the extent that by this act of creation man could compete with the gods, as it was appropriate to place the city under the protection of deities tutelary after some sacrifices and prayers. The Romans founded many institutions across Europe were drawing their plans in the field by surveyors using groma, surveyors who were also priests.

thank you Mr. President Obama to recognize the fair crimes caused by the Vatican and its religious leaders

TABLEAU DU MASSACRE DANS LES EGLISES DE BEZIERS
PEINTURE PAR CLAUDE DUBOIS A VOIR DANS LE MUSEE DE LA VILLE D'ARQUES DANS L 'AUDE
TABLE OF MASSACRE IN THE CHURCHES OF BEZIERS
PAINT BY CLAUDE DUBOIS SEEN IN THE MUSEUM OF THE CITY OF ARQUES IN THE AUDE

Obama's statement saying that "during the Crusades and the Inquisition ... people have committed terrible acts in the name of Christ."
What shocked these people? One really wonders if Gilmore and Donohue really do not know the history of Christianity, or if they think this story should be hidden. Before the sad picture of education in the United States, the possibility exists of their ignorance. So just as sad, the possibility exists that they know this story and want to hide it.
Historical records show that Christianity was very violent for long periods of its development. The horrors of the Crusades and the Inquisition which Obama refers, are shown in the official documents of the church. The Crusades were a long series of military expeditions fully sponsored by the church during a period of 300 years to eject Muslims from the "holy land". The inquisition lasted 400 years and was a multinational terror network run by the church against other religions and specifically against the "infidels" (unbelievers) and "heretics" (people with "bad" beliefs).
For example, under Pope Innocent III, the Christian powers waged a war of terror against "heresy" in what is now south-western France. A million people were killed in 15 years. Christians razed entire towns. When the "soldiers of Christ" asked the bishop Arnaud l'Amaury what to do with Catholics in a city, the bishop said, "Kill them all, God will know his own." The papal envoy notified later than the entire population of the city are 20 000 people had been killed. (NdT: This is the massacre of the inhabitants of the town of Béziers, where between 15 and 20 thousand people were massacred by troops under the command ... Church)
